I have a plex server and was trying to add a friend so that we could watch together. Somehow that user became the admin on my server and all of my managed users were removed. Now when I am logged in as myself I cannot add any managed users as I am no longer the admin? How can I get my user to become the admin again?
I have got the other user to delete their account. they had just created it to try the watch together. Anyway now they are no longer showing up as the admin on my server. No there is no admin at all. I am still showing as a user and can access the server by cannot add other managed users as I am not an admin. How do I get admin access again to my server.
Try
logout of your account.
connect to your server directly using it’s ipaddress:32400
login and claim your server…
Deleting the account was no good.
If still possible, have him look into his mailbox and use the link in the email to restore the account.
What happened is that this user has invited you into his Plex Home. You accepted this invitation without reading the warning on screen that this will make you lose your own Plex Home and all managed users.
Once his account is restored, you can leave his home under Users & Sharing.
Hover your mouse over the line with your username and click on the red X at the end of the line.
But you will have to recreate your own managed users and log in all clients again.
I will try to see if they can restore their account not sure. Is there no other option if they cannot?
I can ask a developer fix your account. But this might take longer, so I recommend you to try the above procedure first.

We tried to do the recovery and it say the code has expired? But it says in the email within the last 28 days and it has only been hours?
Her account was successfully recovered. You should be able to leave the Plex Home now.
(You might have to reload the web app (F5) again for it to notice the change.)
