Regain Plex Admin after accepting invite from other Plex user

My roomate has a Plex server and sent me an invite to access his server. I accepted it and it now list his Home user account with the crown in my Plex. He doesn’t have access to anything on my server. I don’t know how to remove him as a listed user with the crown on my account that is assigned to my email, not his.

Your friend send you an invite, that added you as a home user to his PMS
Have him remove that, and then re-add you as a regular user

To regain access to your own server, look here:

  1. You need to leave his Home again, using the red X at the end of the line with your username/email under ‘Users & Sharing’
  2. ask him to invite you again, this time only using the button ‘Share Libraries’ and not ‘Invite Home User’
  3. give him access to your libraries by clicking on his line under ‘Users & Sharing’

At this point, I just want to gain the crown back to be able to add and delete accounts on my own PMS His account has the crown on my server, my Plex account. I cannot delete or modify any user except my own. I have no desire to share my PMS account with him or to any longer see what’s on his. This is just weird that accepting an invite would change admin privileges on my Plex account and PMS.

You can’t get to the settings of your PMS?

I can get to settings but I can only delete my user, not his and I see all the users from his server too. I don’t get an X when I hover over the end of his or any of his users, just my own user account on my own PMS. I’ll ask him to delete me. If that doesn’t do it, I’ll see if he can share libraries but no home. I’m wondering if both PMS being on the same LAN has anything to do with it. Different IDs, IPs, names and all.

It isn’t a delete button. The X means leave home like in the image I posted above. Those are account level settings not server level settings. The crown means he is the admin of the home not the admin of your server. You are in his home.

Click X at the end of your name row and then it will show a warning “Are you sure you want to leave this home” click the Leave button and all the other users under HOME USERS will disappear because you won’t be in his home any more and will be in your home.
