There are many TV shows that start with the same intro sequence.
It would be cool to have the ability to add this sequence as a clip to the intro skip setting and detect the start of the episode based on this clip, Similar to the detection of intros.
A button to start playback of the episodes at the beginning of the intro could also be sufficient …
What is the difference between an “intro” and your “intro sequence”?
Depends on the show. I have seen some that just start with the normal intro and others that have like a short pre-intro and a real intro after 3-5min …
Thats why I would like to have the flexibility of choosing the clip myself.
There’s already an existing suggestion discussing an option to detect multiple intros (e.g. studio preroll vs. show’s opening titles).
I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

I would like to have the ability to tell plex that the show always starts with this intro and have anything in front of it removed. This way the episodes I record would always start at the correct point
So this isn’t so much about skipping a preroll/intro but properly identifying the start of a recording (assuming they all start with that particular sequence) and cutting off anything recorded ahead of that episode?
