i've been working on a data18.com agent which uses the TV Show agent as the base for scraping data18. The idea is that a lot of adult content comes in multiple series (a "season" in the tv show world) which are split in scenes (would match an "episode" in the tv show world).
So you basically organize a library which uses this agent the way you would organize tv shows:
- Some Multi-Series Release - Season 01 <-- first series of a movie -- Some episode title - s01e01.mp4 <-- first scene of the movie -- Some other episode title - s01e02.mp4 <-- second scene of the movie - Season 02 <--- second series of a movie -- Some episode title - s02e01.mp4 <-- first scene of the movie -- ...
Pros
- Better organized scene-based adult content
Cons
- TV Shows Episodes don't have a 'Cast' field, which is why the agent populates the "writer" field with the actor names
If anyone is interested in testing the agent, please let me know, i can link the code in here when i think it's stable enough.
hey there, i would enjoy testing this out as I've been using MP4 joiner to join all the "scenes" in my movies so that it looks right in plex. This would be very helpful let me know, thanks

is it possible that data18.com has some problems ? I have not been able to match any movie but also when I look at their site I get 0 results returned on a search like "Jules Jordan" anybody else ?

found out that only search results "movies" will match correctly.
Some weeks ago also "contents" worked well... Any changes on Data18.com?!

Data18 has always been less than ideal, but having worked on building a better one, i can see why they don't have much competition.

I think the problem comes from data18, not the agent. I tried several searches, i always get " No results found" on my laptop. But if i use a iDevice that’s work… Weird

Searching only works with the (Actress) in (Website)
If you search with the exactly same title on data18 it doesn't find anything
So if Data18 doesn't create a single page for the actress (The name in the cast is not in bold) the agent can't find the episode.
I don't know if you can do something but it's the only real problem with this agent.
This episode for example:

When you click on her name in the cast you fall on a personal page in developpement. You can see DEV in the title

For me this agent works fine. Except when there are no real personal page for the actress, you find almost everything you want

This depends on your content.
What you say is true for http://www.data18.com/content/1146864
However,
If you name a file "Be my slave.avi" it will resolve to "http://www.data18.com/content/1112556"
This has to do with Data18 and how they index their searches. Some Content has its titles index, some doesn't.
That is why the workaround to have "ActressName in SiteName - title.avi" was created.
So if Data18 doesn't create a single page for the actress (The name in the cast is not in bold) the agent can't find the episode.

This is now fixed. I had a little bug that took way too long to track down. Dev actresses should resolve now.

So the Data18.bundle will not work with scenes. Only the full movie.
If you want separate scenes you could try using that data18-content as scenes are handled like content on data18's website.
You can also just treat the scenes as one movie (batman - pt1.avi, batman - pt2.avi) and plex will put them all inside the same title. This unfortunately doesn't work with all the plex clients so it might not be an option.
Oh and you could also check out that port that someone made to make content use the TV scraper. I haven't looked at it myself but it seems interesting.

I must be missing something (not the 1st time for me)....
I have tried a variety of naming variations, read this thread, read the source on github, and found matches on www.data18.com/content. I cannot seem to get a match when using the Data18-Content bundle.
I have found this title at... www.data18.com/content/1146202
Based on the documentation I have read, I tried this name for the directory and mp4 file "Marika Hase, Tyler Nixon in X-art - ■■■ In Get Wet (2014)"
I have also tried variations of this file name but without any luck in finding a match using the data18-content agent.
I have also tried with other files with no luck in matching.
Another example: www.data18.com/content/1144745 My file/folder name = "Morgan Lee, Jessy Jones in Naughty America Network - Asian 1on1 (2014)" - no match found.
I am asking you if you would share a list of file names that work for you. An assortment from various web sites would be great (x-art, brazzers etc). A list of web sites that data18 stores information for is here: www.data18.com/sites/
I think I am close to getting it to work. I just need a little direction.
