Quick response:
Thank you! And, I wish to stress again that outside content Search needs the same Opt-IN. I’m growing concerned on this point because it sounds like Plex is talking about Search much differently than Discover and Watchlist.

I hear and know what you’re asking for.
My job now is to advocate, convince, and get agreement to get it implemented.
I cleared data/cache on the Plex app, then uninstalled and reinstalled it on Android TV.
Once logged in, it did the usual routine of asking which server I’d like as primary. Discover was included on the list of libraries I could choose from. Afterward, Discover was automatically enabled and listed in the sidebar. No splash screen. No obvious option to remove it. I don’t think I saw anything worth screenshotting.
Version number is 9.1.0.31883.
can you show me please ? Which device?
Same as what I’m seeing with iOS. I don’t see the opt-out option that was mentioned in this thread. Everything is as it was before I reinstalled the app (Discover section, “More Ways To Watch” in search results, etc.)
I guess to me these two points become NULL if we are given an Opt-IN switch on all outside sourced content. Right now, the Admin Control over our own server content is very good, IMO.
However, I think I’m still missing something in point 4. Are you talking about outside content or local content?
No screenshot possible - reinstall on Android, just got dropped right into Plex at login, Discover pinned, no option to uncheck the box. More Ways to Watch enabled and showing searches from other platforms.
Which device?
But even so, there are lots of UNRATED content catalogued on these sites, IMDb and such, that allow such content to be displayed, having no filtering at all, which then shows up on Plex. I posted an example on that Debbie thread until it was taken down.
The question is, how can Plex implement content control systems when lots of content that’s NOT filtered or categorized correctly on these third party sites, aren’t vetted and will slide through the Plex content mechanisms, even if they were set into place.
Thank you for the hint on “UNRATED”.
Passed it on
See my post with screenshots above. Your suggested work around for how to Opt Out does not appear to work. There is no question asked and Discover is on by default on re-install with no splash screen shown to the user.
Which device please and which app version?
iOS (Iphone 13)
Reinstalled from the app store today … so today’s version of the Plex app.
Samsung Galaxy S9+, haven’t tested on an LG mobile yet, Same for my wife’s S9.
LG Nano90 (WebOS) worked correctly and showed what you described.
I’m testing on one of those cheap onn Android TV boxes from Walmart (which is shockingly capable despite the price). Here’s the model:

Give me a few minutes please ?
I’m going to retest on all my devices
For me it was with an iPhone, iOS app version 8.1
I’m seeing the exact same thing @MediaRocket and @Cafe_Diem are describing above. After the routine configuration, everything is the same as it was before I reinstalled the app (Discover section is still available, “More Ways To Watch” are still in search results, etc.)
I never saw the opt-out option you’re mentioning.
It should be. There should have been an option specifically for it like the one you tick an adult content when you setting up shared folder, but I cant really blame plex…because this is “your customized algorithm” for your porn library. It just happen it got leak to other contents. LMAO.
This is one thing that plex owners should have learn if you really are careful plex owner and sharing xxx contents, you should have 2 separate plex servers, one server for your ordinary libraries and one server for your xxx libraries. you just do that way to prevent leakage of xxx content to your unwanted shared users. thats how i would do it if im sharing adult content.
i dont understand people have 1 server doing this kinda of explicit sharing and not realize, it only takes a bug in plex server to leak you adult content to your family and unwanted shared users and your face is doom. lol.
anyway, im not experiencing any of this shtt that people are experiencing. i bet most of these people who are experiencing this problem have exclusively adult content in their libraries. if you dont have any, youre good.
i am op. i share no xxx content. so the “leak” is all on plex
