dont generalize. its not happening on my libraries.

that’s because they disabled the feature. you’re close to 24 hours late.

late? my users and i been using plex server last 2 days we aint got one of these problems you guys complaining. so dont generalize the problem. this is more like problem to group of users.

You can head to other threads and converse, then. The users who are seeing problems can discuss them here.

dude are you being for real right now? lol. the original post clearly lays out the issue. the marked solution acknowledges it and explains the short term solution. we aren’t crazy porn loving people.

Per request by @ChuckPa I started a new thread to try and compile the list of requirements here:

Please take a read and comment. I’d like this to be specifically the needs list, I’m going to report any irrelevant comments.

Even if we were, the algorithm most certainly isn’t bringing up the right kind.

iOS 15

App version 8.1

iOS-Discover.PNG

The app store updated my iOS app.
Upon first opening, I was greeted with the above image.

I turned Discover OFF

We can add Apple TV to the list, I just tried it.

tvOS 15.4.1, Plex app 8.1 – No ability to opt out.

@ChuckPa

@Tion1

Reinstall the app. Opt out at first launch.

I don’t see a way to turn Discover off in your screenshot. Just a way to remove it from the sidebar. It’s still active when you do that, and still in the full sidebar.

@Cafe_Diem

This is the ONLY option we have AT THIS MOMENT which is what I said earlier.

I’m trying to get past this first hurdle until they get the proper solution.

I do not have it in my sidebar. I CAN go to the full list of available sources and select it there … but that is a manual and deliberate effort

I think it’s confusing when you say this is an opt out / OFF. It’s not, it’s just not in the sidebar

@hubris

Fine.

Getting it off the sidebar turns some of it off.

I’m trying to manage here, get info, help create a better set of functional requirements all to give to the team –

AND

Be your advocate & help while this S*** is happening. :scream: LOL

Oh. By opt-out you really mean just “unpin the Discover section from the sidebar”.

That’s not what I thought you were saying at all.

They way it was phrased with the steps, I thought you were talking about a real opt-out for the overall Discover feature (remove the “More Ways To Watch” in search results, etc.)

So I guess that for more, we’ll need to wait for upcoming developments to the apps, correct?

TO ALL:

Above flagged content – Has been removed.

Please do not post again.

No popup on Android with the Samsung GS9+, Android 10, app ver 9.0.5.31871. Looks like it briefly popped up then got hidden behind the main Plex app.

Discover was auto-pinned, obviously search content is still there.

@josephmgaffney

Is this what happens on install?

Can you screenshot please as you install?

Multiple people in this thread have indicated that your work around doesn’t work (no splash screen) so clearly there is some other issue at play here if you are seeing this screen again while many others are not.

To say that hiding the sidebar is the same as turning it off is just bad info, that’s not at all what the issue was that was first reported as well.

Ditto. I didn’t consider that an opt-out, just a surface-level removal. That has always been an option since the beginning AFAIK but it didn’t prevent Discover from being active.
