Adult Recommendations are not acceptable (NSFW)

On one hand he did state he had a long day. On the other, I’m not surprised :man_shrugging:t2:

He clearly did.

I’m missing something here.
We have a Plex employee who has been openly critical of the way Plex implemented Discover.
He’s now getting bombarded as if it’s all his fault.

When I said I’m not surprised, it was because we went through something similar with the whole UNO UI rollout and then shortly after that with the whole HOME and Hubs rollout, causing chaos, digital pitchforks in hand, leading to threads being abruptly closed due to, yes, keyboard warrior behavior, which included myself at the time.

Again, they wound up with something not as perfect but doable had it not been for us getting riled up.

Please consider reopening the Disable Discover feature request. I think the vote count there is important, and its not at all related to what this thread is, or has potentially devolved into.

I think ive said everything i had worth saying about it, and i’ve been quietly following along as requested… but i think the vote count there is about as best way to measure dissatisfaction as can be had.

And also want to make sure to state how appreciative i am of your personal efforts here. I know i am not alone in that.

@ChuckPa has been great. I appreciate him stepping in when he did.

I disagree with closing the other thread (feature request, with votes) and leaving this thread open (adult recommendations, marked solved). That really doesn’t make sense to me, I think it should have been the other way around… But I think ChuckPa has had a lot of pressure put on him, unfairly, so maybe he over-reacted a little, or legitimately just closed the wrong one. I don’t know, I don’t care, it doesn’t matter. I am going to respect his wishes, and will be silent on this issue going forward until Plex releases a fix. I trust that ChuckPa has our back.

Crossing my fingers that this gets fixed quickly by the development team, and to everyone’s satisfaction…

Guys I’m sure many of us do appreciate his input.
Tagging him directly doesn’t help be that to praise or criticise.

let’s just do as he asks and leave it for a while so he can unwind.

It seems that the main thread has been re open

I am stepping back from this thread.

From here forward, the employees will be interacting with you when they have questions or info.

Check the latest release notes on your preferred client platforms.

You should see this or something similar.

Official Android client got the option to turn off the more ways to watch option but beta still doesn’t have it.

I’ve checked iOS devices, iPadOS, Plex HTPC and android - all have the toggle to turn off More Ways to Watch - thanks.

Plex Web also now enabled with the toggle in Search settings

Have not yet checked Roku rebranded devices nor our TV apps.

Is Discover for managed users coming back ?

Excellent news! Thank you so much.

Are you planning on also adding this setting to the the web app at https://app.plex.tv ? It’s the only place I regularly use where the setting isn’t available yet.

It has been added - in Search settings

Oh! That’s great! Thanks for letting me know.

it’s there now.

FYI, I was working with a cached copy of the site. Depending on your browser, holding Shift and clicking the refresh button should retrieve the latest version.

Yeah, the setting appeared for me a few minutes ago after a refresh.

Yep I see it now

The problem is they seem to want a free standing client that people will use to access Plex content without needing a personal server.
