As a software engineer myself I can tell you developers write unit tests to pass. Lol. Would not have caught this. Some sort of production test searching for forbidden words would be needed for this.
Or just an actual QA team and then an actual beta release.
Perhaps hope more than confidence. I have invested a lot of time in learning to set up and use Plex so am invested in their success. I have issues that I can, and have, nitpick on. So it’s in my best interest to help them succeed. Maybe I’ll give up and bail like some have reported. But I’m not there yet.
Looks like the new Search bring up results on these types of movies too. I started a new thread:

I never did content testing. There were dedicated teams for that. But I did do some functional tests and load testing like with loadrunner.

and then an actual beta release.
We are the beta release…
So the consensus amongst users is we are good to go again ?
My server is still offline.
Plex says it’s safe so… Lol. Roll the dice. Btw I’m pretty sure this can happen to your users whether your server is online or not. As this is a Plex service and not a content thing.

It is for the grandkids that directly access my server account (I know, should have a managed user account but I have my reasons).
I’m always with them when they use it but I don’t need a search producing results like this and them seeing it.

Ehhhh… Do you trust there to be no other issues? I don’t.
Jellyfin is handling everything for now for me for the kids, all the adults in the family who can reach my server have been warned.
Oh ok I see. I will say if the users have an app on a device you don’t control and it has internet connectivity this would have still been accessible.
At this point most kids can easier find questionable content on the Internet or someone’s phone.
Although I’m sure there are some folks who are making a good faith effort to lock such access down, it’s a tough thing to do these days.

You do realise that isn’t the point …
Edit - people seriously are not coming up with excuses for this balls up are they ?
I just checked Plex HTPC.
Used suitable terms and all sorts of porn related material came up (not my content).
I do not have Discover pinned nor even used it to search - just used general search…
Edit - just did a global search on my iPhone in Plex using xxxxxxxx and up popped an xxx video and no such thing in my personal content.
Maybe it is just the odd one slipping through and maybe Plex always let rubbish like this through.
The difference is I could control the content and restrict it to the family videos I share with elderly relatives. Now I get all sorts of external stuff.

At this point most kids can easier find questionable content on the Internet or someone’s phone.
This is about Plex beng the Problem, not helping to be the Solution.
See, previously you could use Plex to host your own content and set restrictions on it as well. This allowed me to curate a selection of media that was kid-friendly for my family and other families that they knew was SAFE. They could allow their kids to browse through the content and watch the media without supervision. Plex has now removed those safety limits, so Plex is now, no longer safe but is a potential danger to my family.

Maybe it is just the odd one slipping through and maybe Plex always let rubbish like this through.
No, this is new with the new global search.

No, this is new with the new global search.
There is far less coming through but there is still material populating search that shouldn’t be there.
I agree Plex introduced a not ready for prime-time product and was slow to address potential issues. But they seem to be trying to do the right thing now. Yes, I’m trying to see the glass half full, not half empty, perspective because I have an investment in Plex that I’m not ready to give up.

But they seem to be trying to do the right thing now.
This “right thing” is an OFF SWITCH and they have apparently refused to give us that.
Jellyfin is dramatically more performant for me. It doesn’t have many features–but at this point I consider that a plus.
