Is it possible to implement some advanced settings in Plex Web for Sync to remote devices?
Currently we have a choice of Highest / High / Medium / Low - from what I can tell these work in tandem with the capabilities of the device you are syncing to to generate a sync profile, based on supported codecs and the screen resolution of the device.
If you have multiple devices things start getting very messy, eg:
On my Tab S (which has just over 2K resolution), the Low setting will generate a 720p file of around 2Mbps. This is perfectly watchable on a small screen and cast to a TV, and works well no matter what the source material (TV, 1080P movies etc).
On my windows tab (which has a 1080p res), the Low setting generates something 480p which is horrible to watch, medium will be 576p and even high will be either 576p or 720p seemingly dependant on the source material.
On both devices if I choose a file to sync from the device app I can choose the bitrates, but the UI is clunky compared to doing it from the web.
If possible I’d really like an advanced section in the PMS web page to override the defaults, letting me choose the bitrate, just the same as you can in the clients - so I can manually choose a bitrate and have it forced no matter which device I sync to.
Thanks!
