Advertisement Playback Issue

Hello,

I am simply trying to report a problem where Plex fails to play the Advertisements.

First noticed issues with my Plex Media Server, playing local files. (Linux server v1.40.5.8854 - have not tested latest update yet)
Tonight I was playing “The Dresden Files” on the https://app.plex.tv site, and saw similar behaviour.

Locally played media, it would just stop playback and I would have to click Play again.
app.plex.tv online media, it would indicate in the upper right corner that it was going to play an Advertisement, then it would stop the playback with a black screen.
I then click Play button again, and it would start the show without having played the advertisement.

I am simply trying to help keep this wonderful service alive, by reporting your source of advertising income is not currently working.

For me, the intermittent stop of the playback is just a nuisance, but for Plex it is a loss of advertising income.

There are multiple parts to Plex, some of which are ad supported.

Plex never injects ads into your personal media files on your server.

The free video on demand and free live tv streaming are ad supported. Those services generate revenue for Plex.

If I’m reading @glencampbell711’s post correctly, he is letting Plex know that some of the ads in the on-demand services are not playing correctly.
