I was watching one of my recorded TV shows when it stopped playing and said that I had to do an update today. So I let it update and ever since then it’s been displaying advertisements in my media on my NAS on my local network. Not a mobile device, not a family members home, my home… hooked to the same network.
Most of the time this happens it’s because you’ve accidently chosen one of the Plex free on demand shows from a title that you also have in your own personal library
Boy do I have egg on my face? You’re correct, but why in the hang did it come up in My home list as if I was already watching those videos and it took over right where it left off from the series I was watching on my own server. Kind of frustrating That it took over and replaced continue watching video link in favor of Plex advertised streamed videos.
Is there a way to remove/disable all streaming in Plex other than local library?
And even better option would be to remove it from the menus entirely like you can do in kody
That was a bit of a bugger to find… Was not in the app on the client side, did some digging in the server side and I did finally find it in the menus.
To me, that seems like a stupid place to put it. If you’re streaming content from the web, why is it got to come from the server? Unless you’re trying to hide it so that people don’t know how to find it. Just an observation
I assure you that it’s not. It’s been like this after a lot of discussions and moments where we all had our digital pitch forks out. Any content related to Plex’s services are located under ONLINE MEDIA SOURCES. It’s been there for more than a year. It’s not hidden as its on the LEFT side in sight, 2nd listed under ACCOUNT.
