I have an old library with a lot of movies in it. Over the years and agent changes I’ve noticed I’ve ended up with many many 0 item movie collections sitting in my database.
Is there any smooth process to remove the hundreds and hundreds of zero item movie collections or even the 1 item collections? Besides manually deleting them one at a time which would take all day.
For example:
a) You could just mark all empty collections and delete the via UI.
See here:
b) You could mark ALL movies and empty the collection field (but make sure to have it unlocked). Then delete ALL collections. Then do a metadata refresh of the whole library (or just the known collection movies).
c) You could create a new library on the same PMS and delete the old library (make sure not to delete any media in this process) once all movies have been matched successfully.
This works!
However this has started me on a path of updating the metadata manually for the collection objects so they are correct… it’s going to be a long process there’s A LOT of movies to refresh.
What is say you had way too many movies? I’m worried clicking refresh all metadata would both get me blocked from like themoviedb or something and also send like 100000 red flags about having A LOT of movies.
