After Exiting Full Screen, Window Always Returns to Windowed Mode Instead of Maximized

I have been using Plex for Windows since it came out. As far as I know this problem has always been there.
If you open up the Plex for Windows app in Windows 10 to watch something and then maximize it like a normal window, you expect it to stay in the same position you left it in previously.
But when I change from a maximized window to fullscreen as you do when watching something it works fine.
Then if you exit fullscreen it always regresses back to windowed mode , not the maximized window you left it in before you went full screen.
Am I doing something wrong?
Is there some setting I am missing?
If i am watching a youtube video and go full screen, when I exit full screen the window is always in the exact position it was before I wen’t full screen. Why does Plex for Windows not do this?

I’m using the same version and see the same behavior.

There are other threads on the topic, some dating back a year, so you’re not the only one to mention it.

None of the threads I saw mentioned a fix/workaround/etc., so it seems Plex will have to address it in a future update.

Search the forum with fullscreen maximize tags:player-windows or similar terms to see the threads.
