Plex Media Server Logs_2021-05-23_08-43-20.zip (2.6 MB)
I run Plex on my OpenMediaVault server. I recently upgraded it from OMV4 to OMV5 which required a reinstall. After that I linked the database to the appropriate location where it had been previously. Now when I got to play media it fails on all of my media with transcoder issues. I did have to rename the original Codecs folder that was in the database location since after the reinstall Plex was attempting to create the folder and failing since it already existed. I’m unsure where to go next on resolving this issue and am open to suggestions so that I can get this back up and working again since it ran flawlessly for the past 2 years.
I wanted to send a quick update. After working on this for the past 2 hours this morning I found post:
After checking through /etc/fstab it did have my data drive mounted with noexec. Updated this and went ahead and rebooted the system then all of my media began playing properly.
As a sidenote my transcoder tmp directory was empty so I had created a tmp location for it as part of my troubleshooting and it feels a little more snappy now but that could just be me at the same token after fighting this for a couple hours.
If you edited the noxec mount option in fstab by editing that file your change will eventually be lost the next time OMV handles a config change.
You can look here to see how to properly make the change:

Thanks for saving me on this one. Just finished going through and making that adjustment.
