Hey, I’ve got an unusual problem and am not even sure how to begin to diagnose the issue.
After scanning a specific tv season folder, Plex is not recognizing a certain episode so it’s throwing the subsequent episodes off.
Highlander s04e19 is not being seen for some reason. Instead, Plex is displaying the information for s04e20 and the same for the following episode. But s04e21 & s04e22 are showing up as “Episode 21” & “Episode 22” without any data.
Not only that, but it’s affecting the subsequent seasons… s05e01 is incorrectly listing the s04e22 data.
The workaround is to manually enter each episode’s information… to go to IMDB and copy/paste each subsequent episode’s data into each episode’s description starting with s04e19 and each episode thereafter through to the end of the series… doable but a major pain in the @ss.
Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on or how I can address this type problem? Where and how is Plex pulling the tv episode data because somehow it’s skipping an episode and that’s throwing everything out of whack.

Ok, I checked out the TVDB and yep… that’s where the problem is. TVDB is missing s04e19 so is using e20 as e19, e21 as e20, and completely omitted e22 which is why e22 is showing up as s05e01 throwing s05 off as well.
It says the season is locked and only moderators can modify the record so I’m going to post a message in the forum and hopefully somebody there will be able to correct the inaccuracies.

Nope, no missing episodes there… just the movie listings.
The episode count is off for s04 too… it’s listing 20 episodes but should be listing 22 (e19, e22).
I think I’ve got to get a moderator to input the missing episodes and then Plex will be able to find them and they should correctly list after which… at least I hope.

Try setting editing Highlander at the show level and setting “Episode ordering” to “DVD order” in the Advanced section. According to the TVDB forums there is a difference in the case of Highlander.
That sounds interesting but I’m not sure how or what you mean by “show level”. I think I’m looking in the wrong places because I can’t find “Episode ordering to DVD” anywhere.
Go to your TV library in the web UI and hover your mouse over the show’s poster. You should see an edit (pencil) icon. Click that and then select Advanced and you should see something like this:
From the page for the show where you see the seasons and show description, click on the edit button (the pencil icon). In the dialog that pops up click on Advanced on the left side (last option). On the right side, the last option is Episode ordering with a drop down box. From the drop down click on DVD Order than click save changes.
