Hi! I know many people had similar issues, but I could only find closed threads and mostly for movies, which is why I am opening a new one.
I had to update the metadata for all the TV shows. For some reasons, a few actors disappeared from the cast (not just the images but the name as well), and the funny thing is they are all lead actors. The issue seems to be only on a few specific actors, and if an actor disappeared from a TV show, he disappeared from all the TV shows he is. If I search for the actor in the Plex app from the browser, though, his profile exists, as well as his filmography.
How can I solve this issue? Does anyone have some advices?
I kept searching for some solutions and realized that this issue probably has to do with the Pex TV Series agent. The refresh didn’t help either, hence started to wonder if there were some other options. I found a post on Reddit which eventually gave me some kind of solution (not exactly a solution, because it does not involve using Plex Tv series agent).
I clicked on the 3 dots of the name of my TV series library and edited the Scanner changing it from Plex TV Series into Plex Series Scanner, so that the Agent below would show 4 options: TVDB, Plex TV Series, Personal Media Shows, and TMDB.
Then I went on each TV Shows with the aforementioned issue, clicked on the 3 dots, Fix Match and searched again for the show in the available libraries/agents (I mostly used TMDB in my case because I the issues was with Asian tv-series and sometimes TVDB could only find the Korean version). I also had to do that with all the series having some cast in common or otherwise clicking on an actor couldn’t show all the tv-series he was in, but it was overall a quick process.
Now it’s fixed… but I had to give up on using Plex TV Series agent. In any case, I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else.
But it’s still very weird, because the actors and the tv-series I had issues with are available when I search on Plex, so I really don’t understand why this happens.
