This has been happening for a while but it seems like it’s getting worse. You can’t see actors in a lot of movies now I used to have so when you search an actor and see all the movies he’s in those movies that don’t have the faces underneath it won’t come up with him in and even though they’re in it this should be fixed it’s really annoying.

Have you tried refreshing the metadata on a movie to see if it retrieves the cast information?

Are you using an obsolete library agent?

Is your server up-to-date?

Yep I always update every time you update comes out I always do it and I always log into my interface and always clean my logs and everything. I haven’t refreshed the media stuff yet because this is the annoying thing I keep everything was fine before and then they started disappearing but I keep my I like to have certain poster covers on certain things and if you refresh it so a lot of times it changes them so it’s kind of annoying but I just want to make sure that there isn’t something that’s going to happen to me he keep having to do this I mean I do it if it fixes it but I’m not going to do it if I have to keep doing it.

Yeah I just refreshed the metadata on the movie that wasn’t doing it and did nothing

3 dots next to the library → Manage Library → Edit → Advanced

What does it show here?

Do you see a popup occasionally that asks you to upgrade to a new magic wonderful scanner/agent?

Can you share a screenshot of a popular movie this is happening for? I can compare it to what I see if I have the same movie

Edit: Ninja’d by JaysPlex. Do what they said, I’m curious to know a movie you have this happen to.

Ok, so your server is up to date. That’s good.

You refreshed the metadata on a single movie? Yeah, you do not need to refresh metadata for everything often. I actually suggest you do NOT do that, as it can over-write custom settings like posters (as you said). But it’s too bad that a refresh didn’t fix this…

Let’s check to see if the library is using the right agent. If you use an old agent, maybe the database entries start breaking down… Point at the library name on the left-side panel, and click the triple dot button :speech_balloon: on the right, circled (but not visible) in this pic:

Click Manage Library > Edit…, then click Advanced. What is listed in the dropdown field next to Agent? If it is anything except Plex Movie, then you are using an old agent. Plex usually bugs you to update from an old agent, so I doubt you are using an old one, but it wouldn’t hurt to check.

If it’s none of those… Hm. My next guess would be a corrupt database? I think server logs would log an error when you look at a movie with no cast shown, so find one of those movies, then get the logs. I don’t know what to look for, but maybe someone else will see your logs and find out if we’re looking at the right spot. If so, then me might have to repair database..

Yep mine are the same as yours not picture you sent me I’ll send you some of the movies when I get home today from work and I’ll show you I know one of them is every time it’s just one of them there’s more but I just know we’re off my head Disney’s Robin Hood with the foxes that doesn’t show up anymore and a lot more but that’s the one I know off the top of my head right now
