New Plex TV Show agents

The new scanner is not showing most actors and if there are actors pictures already when I update the TV show with the new scanner it removes most of the pictures.

Can you please be specific about what show you are adding/updating (please don’t say everything. give an example). If you can provide server logs it would be appreciated.

It seems to be most of the shows ie 2 Broke Girls had all the actors pictures until it did a Fix Match, now it has none. Another one is 3rd Rock form the Sun, it had all the actors pictures now it had none. The same with Gotham and Star Trek Discovery had all the actors, now only has 6/10 when it had all actors photos before

Apologies for losing track of this one. Is it possible to get fresh logs after refreshing metadata for one of the shows with the issue like 2 Broke Girls

Here you go and thanks for looking at it. I updated “24” which had most of the actors images, now there are none.

Can you disable “Prefer local metadata” in the libraries settings and refresh

If you mean under the TV Shows/Manage/Library/Advanced settings, it is already disabled. I couldn’t find that setting under the library settings in the toolbox.

Yes that is what I was referring to. What sort of files are they? Can you get the xml for one of the episodes for the show. Get Info>View XML copy it to a text file.

Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it.
Here you go. I use mostly mp4/m4v format

Strange that XML has the image urls in it.

We are having similar issues with the new Plex Movie agent over here:

@Scott-M If you have prefer Embedded metadata enabled the new agent will use the cast list in the file. It cannot grab images for those.

I was aware of that for the old agents.

From public release until early to mid June, the new Plex Movie agent started pulling the cast list and images (I guess from TheMovieDB) even when prefer Embedded metadata was enabled.
I figured this was expected behavior, and loved that I finally had cast images. Even if the cast is not pulled from the embedded tags, I’m ok with that.
Something changed in June with the agent, and that is no longer the case. Cast images are being removed if I refresh metadata, which is disappointing.

Does that mean I have something set wrongly?

You said you already had “prefer local metadata” disabled so I don’t think so. Which episode ordering do you have set?
