As I don’t have Plex Pass I ended up adding the trailers manually and storing them locally, before the button appeared in the app but now after the update this option is only being displayed in the web version of the plex.
In smartv app the trailer is only displayed in the extra tab, how can I solve this and have the play trailer button again?
I’ve read all the plex guidelines on how to catalog your trailer correctly and still haven’t been able to solve the problem.
I have a Plex pass and also have the same issue. Updated my QNAP Plex server version and now can’t see trailers button (can see the trailer below in extras). Restored previous server version but button is still missing.
Works fine on my pc but on all my tv’s (all Samsung) the button is missing.
I just noticed the same problem on my Samsung 55Q70T. I’m not even going to check things like player and server version, I’m so tired of seemingly every update introducing new bugs. Maybe the devs are doing it for job security or something? Anyway I set my server to auto-update daily and my TV does the same too.
I noticed the same issue with my LG Smart TV’s as well. Something changed with the last Server update. I can see trailers in my web interface no problem. Does anyone know when this will be resolved?
I like how paid subscribers are reporting issues but no feedback given from Plex staff, do they only reply once enough people complain about a problem? Hmmm…
Maybe Plex don’t care? Lol…I find the whole thing weird to begin with because honestly version after version nowadays they introduce new bugs without actually introducing new features…at least none that I use anyway.
I’m very happy that I’m getting feedback from other people with the same problem, it’s a shame that the plex team doesn’t communicate anything to us regarding this issue
The trailer button disappeared for me as well on TV. In web browser it shows okay.
I reinstalled both plex app on TV and Plex server, but without success, trailer button still missing.
I have plex pass, but to ne honest I do not feel the benefit of it…
I am also seeing this issue. With all my existing movies I can see the button in all my clients. I have a number of movies I’m updating, and after replacing them with the new version (sort-of Plex Dance), the trailer button vanishes. It’s not a critical issue, but is annoying.
The fix does work ok for one time only meaning, if you go to films page the trailer button is there and then when you have finished playing the trailer the button has gone again, until you go out of the movie page to main menu and then back in and its back, maybe that is intended?
