Again, "The operation failed. Please log in to DSM again and retry."

I’ve seen two inconclusive threads here… surely we can solve this.

Nearly every manual Plex install (DSM6 here !!!) ends with…

The operation failed. Please log in to DSM again and retry.

The odd thing is that after I close this error window, and “x” out of the “failed” installation window… Plex is running with the version I attempted to install. This seems verified, as the Plex browser window no longer notifies me of a new version.

FWIW, this is installed via Edge browser on Win10Home x64.

Thoughts anyone?
Still, I can’t help but wonder if Plex is fully installed/operational.

The behavior here is well defined and has already been addressed.

If you installed PlexMediaServer 1.24.2.4973 or higher -

  1. You have a PlexMediaServer shared folder
  2. The contents of your Plex share will be empty and now located in the new shared folder.

Migration did continue to run after DSM issued the timeout – even if you logged out.

The only way to fracture migration is to reboot the NAS.

Thanks Chuck, but as I posted, this is DSM6, which I’m staying with until 7.1 arrives.

Thanks. I’ll recheck my timeout, and test with other browsers.
