Installing "1.29.1.6276-4a96dd5b1" after Plex Beta from Package Lib is already installed (DSM 7)

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3744
Synology DSM Version: DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1
NAS: DS920+
Player Version#: -

Hi there,
im new in the whole Plex Media stuff just had problems with “Synology Video” so i wanted to try out if plex it better. I installed Plex via the Package Center as a Beta-Package. It seems to work fine and better as “Synology Video”.

Then i notice that the Dashboard says there is a new Version and i have to update it by myself, so i downloaded “PlexMediaServer-1.29.1.6276-4a96dd5b1-x86_64_DSM7.spk” but im unable to install it because DSM says always “Operation failed, please Relogin to DSM” (i translated it from German). This happens instantly.

Then i uninstalled the Beta with the option to kill everything, restartet the NAS but same Problem. i have installed now the Beta again and it works.

I have no clue what to do. Any advice whats the Problem?

Don’t worry. This is what happens with the default timer in DSM

  1. Sign out of DSM and back in
  2. Now install

If it warns again, no not refresh… You will be OK.

Watch the CPU and wait until completely idle again

When completed, you might want to increase the idle time timeout from the default 5 minutes to something longer (control panel - security)

Hey,

So strange I did relogins the whole day with my computer and Google chrome… All works fine(change settings in DSM etc) , only the installation was not working.

Now I tried it via my smartphone and it works fine… It has installed/update plex to the new Version.

Must be some random Google chrome cache *****. Thanks for your help :relaxed:
