I would love to see Airplay directly from the Plex server, to the Airplay target, controlled from IOS/Android/Web.
This would be great indeed ! Just like DS Audio app from Synology.
Ideally, the Airplay stream must come directly from the server (when on local LAN) to the receiver (Airport Express, AppleTV, airplay-compatible DVR…), the iPhone/iPad/iPod only acting as a remote controller. 
Currently the stream comes from the iPhone/iPad/iPod, which consumes battery life and preventing the device from being shut down/disconnected from the LAN :neutral:
Please add this feature ! At least for music 
Brilliant idea. We’ve got an older AppleTV in the bedroom, far from the wifi base station down in the basement. Trying to Airplay content when it streams from the basement, up to the phone, sent back down to the router, and then pushed back up to the AppleTV is an exercise in frustration. If it was simply pushed up from the PMS that would avoid the latency caused by all that traffic.
I would love to see this coming to plexamp or plex!
