Airplay is not working with Plex (but works with everything else

Hi, I cannot get Plex to Airplay (from my phone nor computer) despite it working perfectly on my phone, on my computer, and on my Apple TV.
I tap the Airplay icon and get a message that it IS playing on/via my airplay, everything on my phone looks good. It simply doesn’t register on the TV.
Does anyone have any idea what’s wrong? This is incredibly frustrating. I’ve searched forums far and wide, deleted and reinstalled Plex on all devices… nothing. Thoughts?

You are doing it in the Plex app and selecting “Airplay and Bluetooth” then selecting your Apple Tv. Does it ever ask you for the code that you see on TV?

Yes, that’s how I’m doing it.
It has not asked me for a code. Everything appears to working but it doesn’t. And yes I’ve checked to make sure the volume is up. I can airplay YouTube. Photos, Spotify, etc. This is only an issue with Plex.

so this is an issue with Plex Amp not the regular Plex for iOS app?

No, it’s the regular Plex for IOS app. I don’t have Plex Amp downloaded.

Which Apple TV do you have? The regular or the 4k? and is it possible to get your iOS logs from the app on phone.

I’m also curious if you have our app on your Apple TV and when that is open if you can select that and if it works ( as opposed to choosing the device under Airplay)

I have the 4k Apple TV.
I do have your app on my Apple TV and the app works perfectly, it just doesn’t jive with my phone.
I’m not sure what you mean by “if you can select that and if it works” What is ‘that’?

Logs are attached.

Thanks for the logs.

sorry i mean if the Plex app on your Apple Tv is open then when you click the connect to device/cast/fling/etc button in the app on iPhone it should give you the option to choose the “Plex for Apple Tv” app directly. I was just curious if that works.

Also Since you are playing music and getting no sound. I wanted to check if video is not playing at all or if there is video but no sound.

That is not an option. ‘Entertainment Room’ is always the only option:

In the setting of the phone can you make sure the Plex app has access to Local Network. I have a feeling the app is connecting over cellular not wifi and that is why it cannot connect correctly to local devices.

Yes, Plex has access to the Local network. My Settings screen also shows an option for Cellular Data that your screen doesn’t show. Mine is on. Does that affect anything?

I’m on an iPod touch not an iPhone, that is why i don’t have option for cellular. Something is off if it cannot see the Plex app on your Apple Tv though. The only way so far that I can reproduce issue is if I turn off local network access on iOS device

Can you check the wifi settings on phone and make sure it is on the same subnet as your Apple TV. Not sure what sort of router you have, but some have guest networks which are separate subnets. Like your Apple Tv may be 192.168.1.34 and phone be 192.168.3.23 the first three numbers “192.168.1.xx” should be the same on both devices.

The IP addresses are the same on each device except for the very last number. The tv is .25, the phone is .26.
The Subnet Mask and Router numbers are identical on each device.

Hey BigWheel, any more ideas here?
