Plex macOS desktop application unable to AirPlay to devices/Apple TV - "No players found"

Is there a setting or configuration to get AirPlay working from macOS desktop app? Please help.

The Plex app will only stream to other Plex clients.
If you want to AirPlay to other devices, you probably need to use the cast controls on the OS level (e.g. via control center)
