Alexa app & radio / audio books

Hi - I have a number of radio shows recorded OTA. As they are audio only, I’d like to play them on Alexa devices, but whenever I request them, Alexa (politely) refuses to play them, due to being video files.

The MP3/4 container doesn’t have any video content, so I suspect it’s due to being in a folder classed as TV?

The same happens with audio books.

Does anyone have a settings / folder / file format for audio only files (would a music folder work, if so, how do I get ‘TV’ to record intoa music folder?) that has solved this?

There is not a way to do this automatically in Plex. Plex will always see video files as video, even if there isn’t a video track. You will need to manually convert these to audio file, then place them into a music library.

Thank you

For completeness, I will have to change the files from MP4 to MP3 and then put them into a music folder (TV folders won’t pick up MP3 files).

For radio shows recorded OTA, I’ll have to script something up to change format and location (can’t record OTA into music folders).

I don’t think music files remember location, so if there is a radio show that doesn’t play to the end, it means it will restart from the beginning.

Happy to be corrected if there is a better approach!

Correct.

There is a setting for the library to remember the position.

Oh excellent, thank you!
