Alexa authentication failing

I tried to open Plex on Alexa today, only to be told I had to re-authenticate. Annoying.. but.. okay..

I opened the Alexa app on my phone and it’s trying to walk me through the process.
When I get to the point for Plex authentication, I enter my email/password and do the 2FA. It then says “There was a problem signing into Plex”

I have to say a few things:

  • That is the most useless and unhelpful message I could think of, other than saying nothing. Thats literally all it says.
  • There’s nothing there to tell me what the issue is.. who to contact.. what to try.. Zero.. nothing. The dev team there should be ashamed of that.

I’ve tried:

  • Turning off 2FA (I then don’t get prompted for 2FA, but it still errors out the same)
  • Logging in to my account on a PC - seems to work fine.
  • Turning on 2FA again, still didn’t help.

Is it just me or are others seeing the same thing ?

I should add - I also tried a Recovery Code option. I got the email with the code in it, but the Alexa sign in process also refused that as well.
