Alexa is unable to shuffle music playlists

I created few playlists which I can play through Alexa (Echo Dot/ Flex). However, it plays sequentially every-time right from Track 1 and I am not able to shuffle the playing order through the voice commands. Though Alexa says that Shuffle is on but this functionality seems to be broken.

Any help or trick that will make it work? I read the forum and it mentions that this functionality was working before. So, it is broken now or something else?

Also, is there a functionality to monitor a folder to update a particular folder based playlist automatically.

Is there any way to shuffle a playlist through Alexa?

When I turn on shuffle, it says it is on but it just stops playing after the end of the first song. Any update on this?

Have you tried asking “Alexa ask Plex to shuffle the playlist [your playlist name]”? I had this same issue and found the shuffle a playlist command listed here:

A few frustrating replies where Alexa alternately informed me of devices running Plex and restarts of the playlist from the start and I finally got the command “Ask Plex to shuffle the playlist [playlist name]”, so that does seem to work.
