Alexa cannot switch to shuffle music during playback

Nice to see a new update of Plex for Alexa.

I’ve never been able to consistently play music from my echo devices until this update.

The issue I’m having is with the shuffle command, If I ask Plex to shuffle an album it plays and shuffles the tracks

If an album is already playing and I give the plex command to shuffle, I hear confirmation that shuffle is on but it does not shuffle and playback stops soon after?

I have tried all commands listed, wondering if this is a bug.

What command are you using? I don’t believe it is possible to shuffle what is already playing. You need to give Plex a new command to play the new shuffled content you want.

Found this on one of the support pages, I was using “tell plex shuffle on”

Player Controls

You can also use Alexa’s standard voice commands to control the player during playback. Just say Alexa, tell Plex to Pause . As usual, you need to say Ask Plex or Tell Plex when using these voice commands.

I’m checking. I’m able to reproduce the issue. Alexa does acknowledge the shuffle command but then only plays 1 song.

Thanks, will this fixed or added with a future release ?

I just report the issue, I don’t fix them. Will have to wait and see.

@anon18523487 I wanted to bring to your attention that with the update to server 1.23.4.4805 albums., playlists requested for play or shuffle stop after one song.
