Alexa - Plex Media Player works but Plex for Windows cannot be found

So I have been successfully using an HTPC connected to a PC for a while using Plex Media Player and controlling “some” aspects of it with Alexa. The server is not on the local network but everything has been fine for the most part using remote play on the HTPC and still controlling it via alexa.

The software has been letting me know on login to switch to Plex for Windows instead of Plex Media Player. But I have yet to get Alexa to recognize it as a player. The remote options are all on as is “advertise as player” but Alexa refuses to connect to PFW. Anyone know of a solution?
