Alexa Skill enhancement: Ability to play a specific track by an artist

The current Alexa skill does not support playing of a specific track or song by a specific artist. The best I can do at the moment is to “Ask Plex to play a song or track” and this works well assuming you have completely unique song names. when this is not the case (the same song name by different artists) The Alexa Skill seems to almost choose a random song with the given name. I have not been able to find the pattern here as it dos not always seems to select the same song.

My feature request is to support the artist in the selection of a song.

Play the track “track name” by “Artist name”
Play the track “track name” by artist “Artist name”
Put on the track “track name” by “Artist name”
Put on the track “track name” by artist “Artist name”
Play the song “song name” by “Artist name”
Play the song “song name” by artist “Artist name”
Put on the song “song name” by “Artist name”
Put on the song “song name” by artist “Artist name”

I’d also like to be able to do something like:

“Play the newest album by [artist]”

And ask questions like:

“Which albums do I have by [artist]?”

The latter is helpful because I do not always remember the album names of every artist I have.

That would be awesome too! But you might want to put that in a separate feature request post so it doesn’t get lost buried in this specific request.

Plex team, is this request in the queue?

It’s becoming increasingly annoying that I can’t request a song BY an artist! I’m sure this is ultra annoying for anyone with a moderate to large music collection (ie most people using a media playing/managment platform like Plex!) and an Alexa device!
