First the Android app received a massive UI redesign and now the Roku app. I do not like either one for aesthetic reasons but mostly for loss of functionality. A plex employee confirmed in the forums that the Roku app update did not provide functionality parity and this is the main issue I would like to address with this feature suggestion. I have also read in the forums that beta testers of these updates had the ability to rollback to the old UI.
With the above in mind, I would like to suggest that all UI updates to any and all devices include the option to use the old interface until the new interface is at parity with the old. Once parity is in place and/or majority of crashes/bugs are fixed then remove the rollback option. This will be beneficial for 2 main reasons.
- The user can revert back if a feature is missing.
- The user can revert back if there is a bug such as crashes.
Lastly, it would be great if there was a feedback button in all apps that would take a screenshot and allow you to send a message back to plex. Perhaps make the feedback only available for plex pass users to keep the volume low.
FYI, the idea stems from the way Google allows gmail web users to revert to the old UI and provide feedback quickly and easily from within Gmail.
