All my movie library just changed the date added for all my movies

I have no idea what happened or why. Now every movie in my library says it was added 2 days ago. Nothing changed on the NAS drive. When I look at the files and their folder the timestamps are correct for the dates and times they were actually added.

Has anyone seen this happen before?

Settings - Server - Library - ‘Empty trash automatically after every scan’
you want that disabled if your media is not stored on internal hard drives within the Plex server device.

That setting was on, but it has been on for over 2 years. Why would it update everything now?

I addition it did not impact any of my other libraries at all. Only this one. Seems like if it was a server wide setting all the libraries would be impacted, no?

If you have your media on a remote storage (like e.g. a NAS) it can work for months or years without a hitch.
BUT when your NAS is somehow not connected for a while or not fully operational for a while
and Plex server is doing a library update within this time…

What happens?
it removes all media items (that are actually only temporarily unavailable) from the libraries.
Upon the next library update, it adds all those media items back. And then the ‘Added at’ date is set to all the same value, because for Plex these items are really new.

This only has an impact on those libraries, which are updated within the time when the NAS was not fully available.
