All my users deleted without warning

Plex has just deleted all my home users. Now they do not have access to their plex anymore, all their playlists and preferences are gone. I’ve done nothing to cause this, I have not upgraded or updated, they just disappeared. How is that even possible?

About 7 days ago you accepted an invitation into someone else’s Plex Home.
This is accompanied by a warning that your existing Home is deleted when you confirm the invitation.

You have since left this other Plex Home, but unfortunately this doesn’t restore your own Plex Home.
There is also no way to restore it somehow.
You will have to re-create your managed users.

No warning whatsoever was presented to me in any shape way or form.
Neither did my account join another plex home.

I can see it in the log files. You should take a look into your email inbox. The other user’s name started with an O.

Hi,

I’m not clear on what you can see in the log files? Can you see I was issued a warning? I’d like to see those logs. Where are they located?

The only e-mail I received 7 days ago is below. As you can see, it does not include a warning users will be deleted. I know the other owner did not delete them. Also that would be an extreme security hole wouldn’t it?

Also it was sent to a completely different e-mail address then my plex account is using. So it is highly illogical that it should change anything in my account AT ALL.

Besides that, it is bad practice to delete data with just a warning. Deletion of data should only occur after specific confirmation by the user, and ONLY if a user could reasonably expect the deletion to occur. There is no logical explanation why accepting another users’ invitation should delete any users anywhere. It makes no sense to me.

Clicking on “I accept” will bring you to the “Users & Sharing” page in the web app.
There, you have to again confirm that you are accepting the invitation.
And if you happen to have a Plex Home of your own, you will see
confirm_join_home

That is not what I see. I see:

Also, if I am an admin in my home, I will always stay an admin in my home, I will never leave, therefore the warning does not make sense. As demonstrated by the fact that I can still log into my own plex account server.

And I did not see that warning. I saw the warning above…

Also what is the definition of a “Home”. I’ve never seen this anywhere.

Also, another Plex instance SHOULD NEVER have the ability to go into my personal user database and delete stuff there.

It does not say: “Accepting an invitation for a second Plex Home will KILL ALL YOUR USERS”. Nothing of the sort.
