All of a sudden: no media available

Dear all
All of a sudden there are no media available.
Nothing changed.
Server (NAS) is running.
Media is available.
Can even start the App via https://DOMAIN:32400/web

No media available
Check your network connection and make sure that all media servers are online.

Clearly you have no connection to your server.

Start by rebooting your modem/router and everything connected to it and then check your network settings to make sure you have not inadvertently changed something.

Plexamp is working.
app.plex.tv says no media server available.
Strange…

Perhaps you have set secure connections to “required”, but that is not working within the local network. So you’ve locked yourself out.

Rebooting the modem/router etc… should clear any DNS cache corruption which may be the cause of your issue.

If not already, use a Public DNS server. You may configure that in DSM Control Panel > Network > Network Interface > LAN# or Bond# > Use Manual Configuration > DNS Server.

Google - 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4
Cloud Flare - 1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1

There are other Public DNS servers you may use also.

Failing that, uninstall Plex and keep all data, then when you reinstall the server make sure you choose the option to provide your Plex token in order to claim the server during re-installation.

The last data on plex.tv for your server confirm my initial suspicion.
You need to

  • stop your plex server
  • edit the Preferences.xml file and set secureConnections back to 1
  • save the xml file
  • start your server
