All of My Plex Server files Were deleted off my hard disk

am on latest version of plex media server , was watching content off the server in the plex media player on my laptop , which repeatedly keeps freezing and crashing after every 2 episodes that are played in it , even though the web based GUI never crashed once . Only reason to use the plex media player was to play HEVC x265 files directly , and not cause my server to transcode all such files .
Had just finished an episode and had clicked next , the plex server said no content found and displayed an error popup .
I was surprised to say the least ,on RDP into the host machine i found out that all of the content off the drive selected in the plex server was wiped clean , and about 3.6TB of media files gone just like that , idk what happened ,
on bit of research found people saying that servers with external drives mounted , and auto empty trash on , faced similar issues , but mostly in regards to some episodes missing , but in my case my entire media catalogue is deleted .
Idk what sick joke is this plex devs , but even if i were to delete 3.6TB of data off my hard drive it would take upwards of 30-50 minutes , but in the span of 22 short minutes , of me finishing off an episode playing oof the server , all the media data has vanished

Plex Never Ever deletes medias, unless the server owner has enabled it in the settings/Library, and if so, only the server owner can do that.

“The empty trash” option has nothing to do with the filesystem trash, but means to clear up database items that no longer exist on disk
(above option is most of the time deselected when using usb based disks, to avoid removing from Plex Media Server when the disk is not mounted)

Due to the speed of the deletion, I suspect a bad disk, and would check that instead

I second the disk issues, if its been crashing, that may be a symptom of a failing drive.
