I have all the social features disabled but the Plex apps still show “Activity by you” and activity by my friends under each media item. This seems to be new - maybe in the last couple of months. Seems like a major bug to me.
If you set your own activity to “private”, it means that nobody except yourself can see it.
Or did you check this display by logging in with another user’s access credentials?
Seeing the activity by other users has nothing to do with your privacy. It has to do with the privacy of these other users. And they have their own privacy settings, which they can switch however they decide.

and set the last option accordingly.
If the bar is not hiding due to Display activity from my friends on detail pages being disabled as in your second screenshot that is a bug but I cannot reproduce. I’m assuming your phone is online and such and can pick up the changes to your Online Media Source settings.
As @OttoKerner said unless your friends and others can see your activity, then it is not a “privacy” bug

The bug (or maybe FR?) here is to not show “Activity by you” if that option is disabled (as it is in my case).
The “Display activity from my friends on detail pages” is supposed to hide that in that activity bar below the poster. I just can’t reproduce it, so trying to figure out if there is some variable i am not thinking of.
I wonder if they happened to toggle the settings from enabled to disabled. If so it could be cached and they may need to logout and back in again to refresh the account setting change.
I signed out and back in, and same issue still. I haven’t touched that setting in months at least fwiw. It’s always been disabled.
Is the bar only appearing on Android or all apps like the web app in browser too?
Android mobile and Android TV. Not on web.
Possible to get your android logs after opening up a details page when it on. Hopefully the devs can see it making request for that element and see what is going on. You are welcome to message them to me.

I don’t mean to dogpile but I’m seeing this exact behavior. I’ve disabled “Display activity from my friends on detail pages” and it does just that on the web app. But on my Nvidia Shield and Pixel 9 phone I still see their activity in the detail pages.
Did you change it while the app was open? Can you please try signing out of app and back in.
I have signed out and back in on my phone and shield with no change. I also completely deleted the apps from those devices and reinstalled and logged back in and it still shows friends activity.
