Allow for Plex to be able to use Roku Screensaver funtionality

Server Version#: plexmediaserver-1.27.2.5929-a806c5905.x86_64
Player Version#: Version 7.0 - Build 13

Current the Plex settings on Roku allow for 3 settings: Plex, Black and Disabled.

Roku now with Version 11 allows for the “Photo Streams” screensaver, which allows you to customize whatever art work, photos, etc. you wish to have displayed on Roku for the screensaver.

Currently, when playing music and having the screensaver set for Plex, Plex will display the album art which bounces around the screen. That’s ok, but what would be much better would be an option for Plex to use the native Roku screensaver which now can be set to Photo streams. Yes, you can view those same photos using the Plex Photo Library screen show, but there is no way to set the refresh interval for that (which there should be, but that’s another issue), and they flip by way to fast to be appropriate for a screensaver. Plus of course, the plex photos need to be manually activated vs. activation as a screensaver.

Another way to do this I suppose that could apply to all platforms (not only Roku) would be to allow plex to use it’s own photo library function as a screensaver. Maybe that would be easier to implement, and possibly you could show currently playing information on the screensaver in the same manner as the android media sessions api provides. You folks would know the answer to that.
