How is this not a feature yet!!! It seems so simple. I already share my pictures out via Plex Media Server. Just allow a screensaver to read the library at random and display pictures at an interval
My fav way to use Plex is to have my music library playing on random
Then launch photos (full screen) on random and watch my life in pictures scroll by to an amazing random soundtrack.
My only wish is to be able to slow down (or even speed up - have the variable) to refresh/transition speed of my photo library.
Am i in the right channel to support this request?
I broke down and bought an Apple TV 4 and setup iTunes home sharing. All my pictures are shared and the Apple TV displays them as it screensaver, regardless of the app you have open. There are about half dozen settings of value and it changes pictures every 10 seconds. Still not available on Roku
I echo the request for a PLEX screensaver which can be set to show the photos either randomly, or from specific albums on the ROKU platform. The platform is likely the largest hurdle to clear it seems since this feature request is over 7 years old. I love ROKU for the most part, and with third party apps, USB sticks, or putting everything in the cloud you can do this already and have been able to for quite some time, but who wants to reload other platforms, when you already have your pictures on your media server. Let’s get this done. I just scanned in over a thousand images and share my Media Library with family so they can see all of our family photos. Most of the people being shared with don’t have the tech savvy to set this up themselves, but I can make it easy for them to enjoy with PLEX if this were a feature. Thanks.
