The most annoying thing PLEX has done is to demote my media server to the ‘back pages’ such that I have to click through 4 times just to get to see my media. Can you not allow us to pin the whole server to the HOME page rather than just pin individual libraries??? Oh, and pinning my libraries doesn’t support bringing the ‘On Deck’ items to the HOME page. I honestly don’t care about the other items that are on HOME, I only want MY media… if I have to have that other garbage there, great… but at least let us pin OUR media, which is why we got PLEX to begin with, on the HOME page and save us from carpel tunnel that we are currently experiencing every time we have to ‘click through’ to our media!
IIRC it’s a known artifact that the server entry point still has separate hubs for On Deck and Continue Watching… those have been merged for ages on the overall home screen.
What’s wrong with pinning the libraries you want to use on a specific device to that app’s side bar? This way I can drop my music libraries from the big screen TV app.
There’s usually no need to click through the entire navigation (More > Server > Library > ...) – so I’m not sure what exactly you’re doing that you end up with that experience.
Would rather have the “More” page as the default home, but would take being able to pin the overall server to home instead.
As for reasons, it’s to simply see all “recently added” without “discovery” mixed in too.
Besides that, it’s also just more useful. Can then make it collapsible and have that saved in the cookies.
Then simply unpin those online media sources or disable them for good (depending on your personal preference).
Simply, I want MY PLEX (and those that are shared with me) on the HOME page; why make me go to the “MORE” menu? And, hey, if there is a way to get my ‘On Deck’ and ‘Continue’ watching to show up on HOME, that would help even though it doesn’t solve the root issue… however, I’ve been unable to find any directions on how to get them to show up. Any help appreciated with that.
Ha! Never mind… I had previous pinned some of my libraries but didn’t get the combined ‘On Deck & Continue’ views on HOME. Unpinned them yesterday when posting this as I always had to go to “MORE” anyway to continue with shows I had been watching. Just now, re-pinned them to see if I could find some way to add the ‘continue’ stuff and LO! A miracle… NOW the combined continue shows up on Home. Didn’t before… does now. Well, doesn’t solve the bigger issue but makes the situation a bit more tolerable.
Except I’m fine with a “Home” section as it is, but would like to have a separate “Home” for just the recently added of one server. Would be an easy fix by allowing a server to be on the main pinned page instead of being in a sub-menu.
In general, allowing more customization is a good a thing.
