Allow skipping of specific sections during scans

hello plex community!

I have an idea that would really help me out and maybe you too!

Here's the details:

you are all aware of the ability for plex to skip updating the music section during normal scans? well i would like to enhance this to the rest of the library! What i would like to see is the ability to select what shows, movies, sections, or other specific areas of media get checked when the library updates.

example:

lets say i'm in my movies section and i have a folder for everything in my library by the year it was released. Lets say, 2013 is the name of the folder. Now, lets say that plex is looking at that folder from a directory like /movies/2013/ and there are other folders under /movies/ that i don't need plex to look at because there is nothing new in any of the other folders.

lets say that from plex/web interface, i can go to an advanced menu in library options and look at each section, and tell plex by checking a few boxes which folders, or sections i want it to check. this can be setup like a folder tree directory.

so what i would do is select my Movies section, and there will be the directory where plex looks for my movie files, and i can check the directory with a box, then sub menu the folder, I may then see folders such as 1900's, 2000's, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013. Then i can check with a box, that i want the folder 2013 to be checked when the library updates, but ignore 1900's, 2000's and so on, with boxes unchecked.

Then have this as well for TV shows by folder, Music by artist or album, and pictures by album, or other folder name.

This will help everyone keep a well organized library, and cut down on the time it takes to update for those of us with very large libraries. My library alone is almost 30GB without bif files, and has reached well over 1TB with them (compared to a backup).

If you support what i'm trying to say here, by all means help me get heard by the dev team. if this can't be done, id like to know about that too.
