Allow Watch Together For TV Shows // mod: more than 1 episode at a time

Although already voting for this I really would like this to be implemented, as it would make the quality of plex so much better. Hell even if it was plex plus only I would pay for it.

Just throwing my hat again into this. I know it looks like with the most recent update Plex is trying more social features, so would love to see this on the roadmap

just here to say please…

exactly what i want lol,pls make this happen

Yes please…

Highly needed. Please make it happen

So I see the Plex is going all in with this Discover together, can they please give us functionality for watch together?

I am tempted to just drop some :eyes: here and step back since we are keeping an eye on things here - but let me go ahead and state this is definitely a request that we are aware of and want to find a way to work in to the dev queue. It isn’t slotted in right now as I write this, but this is on the radar!

Nice to finally know this thread is being acknowledged/has been on the radar. Do you mind sharing what types of things are slotted into the dev queue currently, even if vaguely?

This has been a feature request for three years. I’m glad it’s getting eyes and attention, but I’m really shocked that we’re no closer than we were in October of 2020.

I was trying to be polite in my previous reply but this is exactly what I was getting at. I don’t know why fixing/improving this extremely buggy feature implementation hasn’t taken priority in three years. Especially when you consider watch together has been one of the only features released in the past few years that people unanimously agree is a step in the right direction, as opposed to discovery features, streaming service connectivity, and game emulation.

how has this STILL not been implemented? Does anyone have an alternative or workaround? Is there a different service that offers this that i can switch to? FFS.

Is there any update from the team?

Out of the top 66 feature suggestions, 12 have been implemented. That lands this topic in the top 54 most requested feature suggestions. To be fair, reading that back, there are plenty of other things that they could be working on implementing. Not to mention the innumerable bug fixes and improvements that are probably being made without our knowledge. So on one hand, I understand why this isn’t a top priority especially if the same team that is implementing these suggestions is responsible for handling the other aspects of development. But I still don’t think its unreasonable to expect some degree of progress on this from the team. And given what @McWanke stated previously,

we are keeping an eye on things here - but let me go ahead and state this is definitely a request that we are aware of and want to find a way to work in to the dev queue. It isn’t slotted in right now as I write this, but this is on the radar!

I am extremely curious to know what takes precedence over improving this very unique and highly demanded aspect of the platform that has had little to no improvements since its conception.

Many of those I know have completely given up on using this feature entirely due to how frustratingly complex it makes something that should be so simple.

Not to mention that for years, my point in this thread has been them adding all of these new social features while neglecting this request. Even most recently, they released that entire “Discover together” Which just felt like a punch in the gut for the fact that they didn’t think to improve the already existing “Watch together” first.

Yeah and I’m with you there too, I am sure many others are as well. Even if they wanted to implement discover together later down the line after fixing watch together, at the end of the day, this isn’t a social media platform. Letterboxd fulfills that role just fine. We’ve been blue-balled with a half baked feature implementation.

This feature is a no-brainer. It was already briefly enabled for a few versions (seasons, playlists, etc) but for some reason disabled once again. Just enable the feature, regardless of how buggy, so that people with very optimized servers can at least enjoy it and then polish it for performance over time.

It is kind of amazing that this is STILL an issue 3 and a half years later. We don’t need more social features or sponsored content or whatnot like other comments bring up. There is very little reason this should be sitting in the dev queue this long when it is so highly requested and just makes logical sense to have as part of the feature.

Bumping this, as it worked for a few episodes and then turned off? Please, this makes no sense not to have.
