The ability to use watchtogether on a playlist would draw massive attention to Plex. Let’s say you’re having a party and want to show multiple music videos on multiple screens. There is nothing on the Market today that allows this without audio delays on some screens. Sonos has the Arc option, but very pricey . Please add this feature or put on roadmap
just here to bump this because this is a feature that just makes sense to have

I rarely create posts on the Plex forum, but today I felt compelled to share my thoughts. I run a Plex media server on my unRAID system and I thoroughly enjoy watching shows, movies, and listening to music all from this single platform. It’s fantastic, and in my opinion, surpasses the competition in terms of compatibility, support, and features.
However, there’s one feature that feels like it’s lagging behind: the “Watch Together” system that Plex integrated a few years ago. My friends and I use this feature daily, often watching multiple episodes in one sitting. It’s become evident that the system feels somewhat stagnant. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to criticize harshly; I’m merely expressing my feelings about it. The most notable shortcoming is the inability to play back an entire season or multiple episodes consecutively. As it stands, you can only stream one episode at a time. This limitation is especially frustrating when we’re watching anime or shorter series.
So, I’m curious: why hasn’t a feature for continuous playback of multiple episodes been introduced to Plex? Is it due to technical complexities, or is it something that’s been overlooked? Has this been on Plex’s improvement radar at all? Has the idea been considered and rejected?
I’m part of a community where many use the “Watch Together” feature and the consensus is clear: it could use some enhancements.
I genuinely believe that addressing this issue could be a game-changer and elevate the entire feature.

Maybe you’ve done this, but I’ve never used Watch Together, so I don’t know the answer to this.
I see the ‘Watch Together’ command on playlists. Have you tried adding multiple episodes to a playlist and trying that? Or does that still only play one at a time?
It seems that with the latest update of plex, on experimental features, you’re able to watch seasons together now. I am honestly surprised this happened right after my post. It, however, always starts at episode one. Ignoring the watch state of the organizer.
Those recent developments aside… there’s already an existing suggestion thread discussing an option to use watch-together for more than one episode at a time. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.

I’m gonna be watching another series with a friend next month And every time this happens I think of this topic and wonder why they haven’t moved forward with it yet.
They keep talking about the social media aspect of Plex so this feels like it would be a big win.

I would have liked this feature too, but it doesn’t seem to be happening in the near future. 
I’m so sad to read this, especially after @McWanke 's comments earlier in the thread gave me hope

So I would love to have an update on this, are there any changes? The communities that I’m in, also myself included really would like to know: what are the plans?
Of course I know everyone at plex is doing their best and the product is working wonderfully. But, this would be such a great addition, it’s a shame we don’t have it yet / or an idea of what the status is.

It would be a big win if we saw a lot of usage, or growing usage of this feature. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case here. This feature isn’t in line to get some dev attention because it doesn’t get a lot of usage. Probably not great to hear if it is a feature that you totally love, which stinks, but we are trying to do the best we can with the people we have.
I think something that would help with usage would be being able to use it for more than just movies. I’ve used it for movies before, but most of my use case is watching shows together and at this point we just loaded at the same time and count backwards "3…2…1… start " Voice chat and hit play at the same time because we don’t really have a better.
I guess it’s a catch 22, the feature only half works so people give up on it until it’s fixed but since people give up on it you don’t fix it?
I just checked a few random TV shows on my server and the Watch Together options appears in the options on shows the same as it does for movies. Are you referring to enhancements to the Watch Together feature here?
Yes I’m referring to the enhancement. I feel like in its current state Watch Together is only half implemented.
People do not auto play movies in Plex, whereas you would often autoplay a TV show episode in Plex. However, watch together does not support auto play (already a working feature in plex when you watch shows) for TV shows. After one episode – and sometimes episodes can only being 5 to 12 minutes long – you have to re-set it up again.
That’s why we just stopped using it for TV shows. We do a countdown over discord and hit play on our devices at the same time, because if we are not using watch together, we can actually watch the TV shows with Auto play on our own devices, since this is a feature already built into Plex but Is it not available for watch together.
I feel like even if we had a way to create a watch together queue instead of just binding it to a single Video, and we can just keep adding videos to the queue that auto play, that would also solve this problem since I can just put the 10 episodes that we plan to watch overwatch together and use that… I hope this makes sense.

I can’t believe this isn’t implemented after years of waiting. You’d think a single Plex employee has tried to Watch Together a season of any show and noticed… It sucks queueing every episode.
I would buy Plex pass for life if this singular QoL feature of queueing a whole season/multiple episodes was on there.
You are aware, that Watch together is broken for several months without a fix on many devices? We stopped using Watch together because we can’t use it anymore without severe issues.
