I have the plex app via the samsung smart hub but it is out of date and I don’t think there will be anymore updates for it. It is on version 2.013 PMS version 1.19.1.2645. I saw some threads of people trying to install it via USB but were having issues, I found one guide from 2015 that said Samsung blocked side loading it from USB on 2012 models. is that true? is there any way i can get a newer version of the app on this TV? much thanks

There is no newer version for Samsung TVs running that version of the Plex. It was developed by a volunteer for older Samsungs. The Plex app for Samsung developed and supported by Plex is for newer Samsung TVs.
