Alternative Way To Submit Logs

Being a former systems programmer, I understand the need to get as much information as possible when working to solve bugs. I would provide that information to plex but I don’t want to post the logs to a public forum.

Yes, I know, Plex will tell me that there is no personally identifiable information in the logs. But, since I got my plex pass a month ago, Plex has done nothing to earn my trust – quite the opposite. The premium features that I pay for simply don’t work. I don’t have the time to review the massive quantity of information in the logs before submitting them and I don’t trust Plex enough to post huge logs to the public that might somehow be used to attack my computer.

Is there some other way to post logs other than posting to the public forum?

When you post your issue in a proper tagged new thread, describing your issue, then wait for a Ninja or Plex Employee to step in. You can then DM the logs to that person.

Ok, but no one from Plex has been responding to the TV and Sync problems that I have posted. I’ve seen similar problems to mine posted to the forum which were ignored by plex. So I post a thread as well and it is similarly ignored. It is simply not possible to get help or report bugs.

It’s a pretty common thing in the forums. I have months-old posts that I’ve repeatedly bumped, but can’t get anyone from Plex to reply.

dane22, do a search for “Syncing stuck at 50%” and you will see what I mean. An important plex pass feature is completely broken and it seems that PLEX just doesn’t care. Don’t even get me started on Live TV/DVR.

Things are so bad that I posted an extremely negative review on Google Play (something I’ve never done before) and I will be seeking out cord cutting forums on the net to warn people about the plex pass being worthless.

Suggestions have been made that they add a “Report a problem” button that gathers your comments and sends what is needed. I’m a tester in more than one product like this and that’s what they do. On one of them you report the issue in a blog and provide the ID tag generated by the report function. That allows others to still see the types of issues. The blogs in this case are limited in access to other testers so it’s not “fully public” but not protected completely.

In other scenarios you simply send the information via a “Report” button.

Multiple people have suggested this to PLEX and like most suggestions they’ve been ignored.

Thanks for info SmokIndog. Dane22, I have to conclude from this that Plex does not want to know about its problems. I really feel like I have been sold vaporware. I have had the plex pass for a month now and none of the premium features that I want to use work properly (or at all). How do I request a refund? I really feel like I’ve been cheated here. Please respond. Otherwise I will be contacting my credit card company to report Plex.

Sadly, I don’t use sync myself, so not able to assist in the other thread.

Regarding Plex Pass, then note, that it has nothing to do with support!
