I spend most of the time on the forum looking for solutions to problems I have with Plex. Where Plex need to diagnose a problem (for example in the DVR Beta code, they usually ask for logs to be posted on the forum. Most people don’t collect these advance and post them with the problem.
Would it not be simpler to have a ‘Send diagnostics to Plex’ button which returns a token which can be posted on the forum? This would mean the logs are already in some magic repository at Plex Towers and don’t clog up the forum. Logs generally are of little or no use to the average forum member, and some people are concerned about the privacy implications of posting the inner workings of their system.

This has been talked about. There are downsides to this. Right now with the present system users as well as ninja/staff members can help. If you read the forums you would see there is a lot of help given by experienced users. I know I used to do this all the time before becoming a Ninja.
So it’s in the best interest of everyone not to limit who can be of assistance. Plex is constantly looking for ways to improve support and the methods employed so nothing is off the table. As an example the semi new style of generating the LOG ZIP file has helped tremendously as it makes it much, much easier for new people to get to their log files especially if the server is remote. You can simply drag that zip into a forum message and it automatically uploads the file.
