A New Interface suggestion. I’m watching a movie. It gets to the Credits. I hear or see something I want to review. I hit the REPLAY 10 SECONDS button. It does not respond. None of the transport buttons seems to work perhaps because Plex thinks the movie has “played.” In any case, I want to be able to navigate in a movie even if it’s the end of the movie and Credits are showing. I also seem to have a similar experience when I pause a movie (in the middle) for a long time. I come back and the transport buttons are ignored. In all cases BACK gets me to be able to RESUME, and then the buttons usually work. This is kind of a pain. I realize there’s a similar post to this, but I’m not sure we’re talking about the same thing.
It’s been some time… on what client do you experience this behavior?
I remember recently doing the same on my Apple TV without issues… so just wondering
A lot of the problems seem to change from client version to client version. I have not updated my NVIDIA SHIELD client for a (couple months?) now. (See other messages.) I sent the above message almost a year ago, so client behavior has changed. I would say what seems to consistently be true: Plex thinks once you hit the credits (algorithmically perhaps the last CHAPTER in a movie?), the movie is (or will be) marked as Played. I am guessing the problem I wrote about, where, in the credits, the transport buttons (e.g., rewind) no longer work, is fixed, since it hasn’t been bugging me in a long while, and I do use the feature from time to time. On a related note, the rewind button don’t seem to work in the first 10 seconds of anything. One might expect if you are in the first 10 seconds of something, a rewind would just start over, but it doesn’t; it just hangs Plex (on my NVIDIA SHIELD client). It’s not a major problem, because I can back out of the show and then restart it. I say 10 seconds because I use an Amazon Remote (AR) with my NVIDIA SHIELD box [the remote that comes with the NVIDIA SHIELD box is an affront to sensibilities], and its “rewind button” (bottom left) seems to rewind 10 seconds. This nifty remote actually works quite well and I can even control the AVR (volume up, down, mute) with it, which is useful at times. Newer NVIDIA SHIELD boxes come with an improved remote, but if anyone reading this has an old NVIDIA SHIELD remote that you hate, you might want to look at the AR.
Thanks for the feedback. In that case I’ll close this particular suggestion as implemented/fixed to avoid confusion.
As for the behavior… yes, I believe it’s actually a percentage of the full duration which particularly users with long audio-books have complained about.
