To remove the extra “playlist” entry, I recently re-installed the Plex client on both my iPhone 8 and iPad 9.7" and, even with the extra playlist now removed, I noticed a really odd behaviour.
During the install and setup, I chose to set the home page to be automatically managed. Though this worked whenever I would switch users or close, re-open and choose another user, there was a long delay which showed the previous user’s home page (not ideal cause it does kind of defeat the purpose of user isolation).
So I decided to go back to manually manage the home page. The hubs wouldn’t show properly at first but I then went and did a Restore Defaults workflow, selected the sources and all of this worked.
Unfortunately, now whenever I switch users I am prompted to Restore Default Home Screen ever single time.
- Going back to automatic corrects the issue but then I am back to the user switching visibility issues

- uninstall, reinstall, remove from the server’s authorized devices, and going back through the setup on the client does not correct the issue
- during the troubleshooting, setting to manual home page does not show the hubs correctly but switching does not give an issue
- in order to get the hubs back when selecting manual home page management, I went through the process of Restore Defaults…this does bring back the hubs as expected but then the switching/loading of different users shows the Restore page
– this leads me to believe that somehow the Restore Defaults workflow has either not been persisted and/or is the cause of this whole thing (again, only in the manual management workflow)
Has anyone with home users seen this behaviour? If so, any suggestioned (other than “just use automatic management of the home page”
)
Note:
I suspect this is a client issue b/c I did roll back my server to a few versions back but saw the same issue.
