HI everyone
So basically, I just wanted to know if I was using Plex properly, as I seem to be having an issue and not sure if it’s me doing something incorrectly or if it’s the hardware I am using or something else all together.
So I use a seedbox, which automatically syncs anything I download straight to my Plex which is really handy as I wouldn’t know how to manually put them on there, I have like 3TB worth of space, and like 9TB worth of bandwidth each month, so my internet connection is usually 30Mbps and my upload usually comes in at around 6-7Mbps, I use mainly my Xbox One for watching things, but will occasionally use the web player.
I am finding that the stream just seems to stop, I don’t get any error saying that it’s too slow, just loads for a couple of seconds and then the film carries on, whether that’s on the 8-10Mbps setting or even if I drop it down to as low as 3-4Mbps, I was told that my upload speed was fine, and sometimes I can play films smoothly with no problems but then sometimes I just get this problem all the time. I was wondering whether it was because my speed is too low, do I need a more powerful device to play from for smoother playback?
I occasionally share my library with a couple people but not constantly every now and then I might have a film on there that they want watch so will share my library and then after they’re finished I take them off. Just a little stuck at the moment as I pay monthly for the service and don’t feel I am getting my money’s worth when I can’t even watch films.
Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
