The forum is full of similar posts, especially for TV shows, with which Plex is particularly picky.
As @tom80H writes, best not to push it. When adding TV shows to Plex, take five minutes to create season subfolders and name things correctly. It will save you from frustration later on.
Here’s a post with info on how Plex matches things. It uses a movie as an example. However, it shows why it is a good thing to put the year in parentheses, extraneous info in square brackets, etc.
