Amazon Fire TV - Cannot connect to server after going to sleep

Server Version#: 4.12.3
Player Version#: 7.25

Every day, after the Fire TV has been sleeping, when I launch the Plex app, it does not show me any of my libraries and insists the connection to the server is unavailable.
All the other things like podcasts, news, web streams are shown, however.

The only way to get my channels back is to both force stop the Plex app and restart the Fire TV.
90% of the time, this fixes it and the content is magically available, sometimes I have to do it twice.

I have the same problem with my phone connecting to the server over wifi.

The Server and Fire TV are connected via a couple of switches using Cat 6 ethernet.

The web browser version connects first time using my phone.

This has been happening for approximately the last two to three weeks.

The server is running on a Synology NAS

Same issues with me, when my server (PC running v4.12.3) goes to sleep both of my fire stick players cant seem to connect to it. My phone, and browser can pull up the server without issue.

Server is connected via ethernet to the main switch, and the fire sticks are both on wifi.

I dont have to go as far as restarting the firestick, but i do have to force close the app in order to get it to work.

This happens on my parents setup (identical to mine) as well, I just set their server to never sleep so I dont have to constantly walk them through fixing it.

I’ve exactly the same issue with my FireTV.
Plex Client: 7.25.2.14287
Fire OS: 5.2.7.2
PMS: 4.18.1

Same issue. Any news?

I also noticed this exact issue - it only seems to occur with the refreshed Amazon Fire TV App. Works fine when I use the Plex for Kodi plugin, which is my current work around.

@kinoCharlino - hello, what is the best way to get someone from Plex looking into this? Thanks.

Looks like the latest version of the app has resolved the issue - although it now crashes when playing certain video files. Looks like it’s the subject of another thread, hence I won’t labour the point here. Disappointing to see that nobody from Plex actually bothered to contribute to this post.
